Add your Google reviews to a Shopify website
About three minutes. You need a free Truewidgets account and your widget’s code.
Shopify: in a page
- In Shopify, go to Online Store, and click Edit theme (or Customize).
- Open the template of the page where the reviews should go.
- Click Add section, and choose Custom Liquid.
- Paste your Truewidgets code into the section, and click Save.
You need a Shopify plan with the online store: Basic, Grow, Advanced or Plus, not Starter. Your theme needs a Custom Liquid section; Shopify’s free themes have one.
Shopify: on every page (floating badge)
First, in Truewidgets, choose the Floating badge layout for a widget in “Change how it looks”, then copy its code from “Get the code”.
- In Shopify, go to Online Store, and click Edit theme (or Customize).
- In the Footer area, click Add section, and choose Custom Liquid.
- Paste your floating badge’s code, and click Save. Every page shares the footer, so the badge shows on all of them.
You need a Shopify plan with the online store: Basic, Grow, Advanced or Plus, not Starter. Add the code in the footer like this rather than in theme.liquid: theme updates can remove code edits.
Not showing up?
- No Custom Liquid in the list: your theme doesn’t offer that section. Shopify’s free themes do.
- Code you added to theme.liquid is gone: theme updates can remove code edits. Use a Custom Liquid section in the footer instead.
- On Starter: code needs a plan with the online store (Basic, Grow, Advanced or Plus).
