Add your Google reviews to a Squarespace website
About three minutes. You need a free Truewidgets account and your widget’s code.
Squarespace: in a page
- In Squarespace, open the page where the reviews should go, and click Edit.
- Click Add block (+) where the reviews should appear, and choose Code from the list.
- Click the pencil on the Code block, and paste your Truewidgets code into the box. Leave Display Source switched off.
- Click Save, then open your live page in a private window. Your reviews are there, and keep themselves up to date.
Squarespace runs code in Code blocks on its Core, Plus, Advanced, Business, Commerce Basic and Commerce Advanced plans, not on Basic. On Basic, share your reviews page instead, or tell us and we’ll help.
Squarespace: on every page (floating badge)
First, in Truewidgets, choose the Floating badge layout for a widget in “Change how it looks”, then copy its code from “Get the code”.
- In Squarespace, open the Pages panel, and go to Custom Code → Code Injection. (On Squarespace 7.0: Website Tools → Code Injection.)
- Paste your floating badge’s code into the Footer box.
- Click Save, then open your live site in a private window: the badge sits in its corner on every page.
Code Injection needs Squarespace’s Core, Plus or Advanced plan (and some older plans). On Basic, share your reviews page instead, or tell us and we’ll help.
Not showing up?
- You see the code as text: switch Display Source off in the Code block.
- Nothing on the page: Squarespace may not show code while you’re logged in. Open the live page in a private window.
- Pages inside an Index may not run code: put the reviews on an ordinary page.
- Still nothing: check your plan runs code. Code blocks don’t run code on Basic, and Code Injection needs Core, Plus or Advanced.
